郭台銘說，別人都她一出世就有多少多少錢，但是，他的90%財產已公證捐出去，她根本沒有什麼錢，「我給她最大的財富是，陪著她一起長大，給她一個快樂的童年；我對她的愛、教育與示範才是她最大的財產。」
郭台銘短短六年，經歷妻子林淑如與弟弟郭台成的死別，讓他在心情上有了很大的變化。「是我親手將太太林淑如抱進棺材的」。「我以前是不吃安眠藥的，但是，在過去這三年多的時間時，有一段時間，我每天必需吃安眠藥才能入睡。有一段時間，我一直問我自己，我的人生是為了什麼?」
問他這段時間，心情上的變化。郭台銘說，「我的心情已到了70歲境界，於私無所求，已看透人生。我的財產90%會捐出去，但是，我還有責任在。」他掏出身上的玉如意說，這是他的妻子林淑如在50歲送他的生日禮物；另一個是婚戒，對戒花了9萬元買的，是他身上最寶貴的東西。
「失去了才知道要珍惜」，隨著小女兒的出生，郭台銘說:「新家庭與新生命到來，對我而言，是無價之寶。」成為他人生重新獲得的新寄託，現在，郭台銘每天都要抱著新出女兒2個小時，看著小女兒每天生命變化的喜悅，然後，可以帶著小女兒給他的生命動力，再以回至公司，從9點開會到半夜1點半，因為，新生命不僅帶給郭台銘無限的希望，更成為他人生珍惜所有後，重燃其生命之火打拚人生驅動引擎。
